Case Study 2 - Development of an Intelligent Network based Voice Activated Dialling service

Working for a strategic US account, Tangent Telecom were invited by the CEO to devise an Intelligent Network based Voice Activated Dialling system, building on our IN expertise as well as the skills and experience of our speech and language scientists for developing the spoken human computer dialogue interface.
The user interface allowed for addition, manipulation and calling of names stored within a personal directory, whilst the SS7 backend integrated to an ANSI standard GR-1298 / GR-1299 Intelligent Network. This work built on the high level of user interface skill and the SS7 and Intelligent Networks knowledge within Tangent, allowing the client to take a full design of front end dialogue and back end Telephony interfaces to a third party solutions house for implementation.
This project was carried out completely remotely, working alongside senior US-based staff. Tangent Telecom employees established a flexible membership of the client's team, becoming a major influencing factor in shaping the strategic direction of the voice dialling implementation moving forward.
The project lasted under a month and delivered a full design specification for the service interfaces and positively influenced the decision making process for implementation and test strategies.
